Since coming in to Government, I’ve heard from hundreds of locals concerned about the lack of mental health support services across our community.

That’s why I’m proud to announced that if we’re re-elected, we’ll deliver a Medicare Mental Health Centre for our community in Ryde.

The centre will be funded as part of our $1 billion mental health commitment, which includes:

  • $225 million for 31 new and upgraded Medicare Mental Health Centres
  • More than $200 million for 58 new, upgraded or expanded headspace services
  • $500 million for 20 Youth Specialist Care Centres for young people with complex needs
  • $90 million for more than 1,200 training places for mental health professionals and peer workers

What Are Medicare Mental Health Centres?

Medicare Mental Health Centres offer free, walk-in mental health care for anyone who needs it. No appointment, referral, or Medicare card required.

These centres are designed to provide immediate support for people going through tough times, offering a safe and welcoming space to speak with trained mental health professionals.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, or just need someone to talk to, these centres make mental health care more accessible for our local community.
