This bus route will be a game changer for locals, connecting Top Ryde, East Ryde and North Ryde to Chatswood.
🚌 MEET YOUR NEW BUS ROUTE 🚌
It all started in 2017 with a local petition by Councillor Penny Pedersen to get a bus to Top Ryde. Despite being rejected by the state government, the community kept pushing. In 2019, a transport event in Hunters Hill brought this issue to the attention of the Shadow Transport Minister, Jodi McKay, who committed to the route.
After years of persistence and another push during the 2023 state election, the Bus Industry Taskforce finally recognised the gap, and now the 516 is operating!
☀ A review of the route will happen every six months, with hopes to add more stops in East Ryde at Sager Place by November. ☀
