Jerome Laxale is the re-elected Federal Member for Bennelong, now serving his second term in Parliament. A long-time local, Jerome has lived in North Ryde with his family for nearly 20 years and previously served 10 years in local government, including five as Mayor of the City of Ryde.
In the 48th Parliament, Jerome is Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on electoral matters, and a member of the House Economics committee and the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security.
Jerome led the national Fee-Free Digital Payments campaign, helping drive a review by the Reserve Bank into tap-and-go surcharges and payment fees, part of his commitment to easing the cost of living. He also welcomed the opening of Urgent Care Clinics in Bennelong, improving access to local healthcare.
Passionate about climate change, health, housing, enhancing multiculturalism, and democratic reform, Jerome brings nearly two decades of leadership experience across government and business, and remains focused on delivering real outcomes for the Bennelong community.
