Jerome Laxale MP was elected as the Member for Bennelong in 2022. Having served in local government for 10 years, including 5 years as Mayor of the City of Ryde, Jerome has long been a passionate and accessible advocate for his local community. Jerome and his family live in North Ryde, having lived locally for nearly 20 years.
Jerome is a member of the House Economics committee, and the Joint Standing Committees on the National Anti-Corruption Committee and Trade and Investment Growth. He takes a keen interest in climate change, health, housing, enhancing multiculturalism, and prioritising effective local representation.
Jerome is an experienced elected official, board director, and business consultant, offering nearly 20 years of leadership experience within the private sector and government, including board roles and business leadership.

Bennelong covers 60 km2 of the Northern Sydney region, including all of the local government areas of Ryde and parts of Hornsby and Parramatta.
It includes the suburbs of Denistone, Denistone East, Denistone West, East Ryde, Eastwood, Epping, Macquarie Park, Marsfield, Meadowbank, Melrose Park, North Epping, North Ryde, Putney, Ryde, Tennyson Point and West Ryde; as well as parts of Beecroft, Carlingford, Chatswood West, Dundas, Ermington and Gladesville.
