Thanks to the Albanese Government’s commitment to strengthening Medicare, a new free Medicare Mental Health Centre is now open in Top Ryde, offering walk-in, bulk-billed mental health support to people across Bennelong.
The centre offers a welcoming place for people to access mental health information, services and supports from qualified professionals over extended hours.
Anyone can reach out for support for themselves, a loved one or patient. Delivered by mental health professionals, Supported by trained providers & Supported by trained peer workers.
What the Centre Offers: It is free and no appointment or referral is needed.
The Ryde Medicare Mental Health Centre is here to make mental health services easier to access, earlier in the journey, and fully free under Medicare – no referral, no appointment, no out-of-pocket costs.
This service may help:
- Provide immediate support to reduce distress
- Provide in-house assessment, treatment and support
- Connect you with the most appropriate ongoing support

I fought hard to make sure Ryde was one of the first sites for this national Medicare initiative. Because in our community – no matter your income, background or postcode – you deserve mental health care that’s free, accessible, and there when you need it.
