Community Outreach Officer – Casual
Applications are invited for the casual position of Community Outreach Officer in the Office of Jerome Laxale MP, based in the Bennelong Electorate Office in Epping, NSW.
The successful applicant will be committed and enthusiastic to their role with experience in outbound phone calling preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Hours are usually from 5pm to 8pm on weeknights.
Key Duties:
- Contact constituents on matters relating to the local community
- Update requests from constituents in the internal CRM for follow up by constituent officers.
- Engage with constituents in a pleasant and professional manner on the phone.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to engage and communicate with a broad range of people.
- Prior experience working in customer-centric roles is a bonus.
- Confident phone manner and the ability to engage with people in a friendly and understanding way.
- High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
- A customer service focus and a pleasant, positive, and respectful demeanour, with the maturity to engage with members of the public who are experiencing distress.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small close-knit team.
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-23 which include:
- A commencing salary between of $36 per hour. Minimum of 2 shifts per person with the opportunity for 5 shifts per week as outlined in the hours above.
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable in addition to the paid hourly rate.
